I could see Eckels possibly pulling it off, but he's not really known as being from that part of Houston.

UPDATE: Tom Campbell and David Wallace both say that they will be running in the special election.

UPDATE2: Greg suggests Jerry Patterson. Interesting. Patterson strikes me as wanting to stay Land Commissioner, but who knows. He does have ties to the area of the district.
